We are seeking a proven Senior Software Engineer to be a technical leader within our experienced engineering team. The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will transition from just writing code to owning large technical components, setting best practices, and guiding the team’s execution.
- Design Ownership: Design, implement, and maintain highly scalable, secure, and compliant features and components across our platform. Drive technical design discussions and contribute significantly to our system architecture.
- Technical Execution: Lead the implementation of complex user stories, ensuring code quality, performance, and adherence to security best practices, working primarily in Typescript, Python and Java.
- Quality & reliability: Champion the quality and reliability of our software, implementing testable, scalable designs, following best practices for cloud native software running on AWS.
- Mentorship & Growth: Act as a mentor and technical coach for Associate and Mid-level engineers, raising the overall capabilities of the team through code reviews, training, and knowledge sharing.
- DevOps & Deployment: Take responsibility for the health of our CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure, optimizing deployment processes and monitoring tools for maximum reliability.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Product Management and Clinical teams to translate complex regulatory and user requirements into achievable technical specifications and delivery plans.
About You
We are seeking an experienced engineer with a strong track record of designing and delivering complex, high-quality software solutions in an agile environment.
For this opportunity you should have:
- 5+ years of progressive professional experience in Software Engineering, with at least 2 years operating at a Senior level or in a technical leadership role, delivering software to production.
- Expert proficiency in at least one of Typescript or Python and deep experience with related frameworks and ecosystems.
- Proven experience designing and implementing scalable services in a cloud environment, leveraging technologies like, serverless (Lambda), microservices or containers
- Demonstrable experience with architectural and code patterns
- Strong commitment to automated testing, performance tuning, and robust monitoring & observability techniques
- Excellent communication, technical documentation, and leadership skills.
It is a bonus if you have:
- Previous experience working in a medical device or regulated industry
- Experience with DICOM processing, or imaging technologies.
- Expertise in cloud native software design and development.
This is a hybrid role based out of our Belfast HQ, Northern Ireland.
