Axial3D to showcase medical 3D printing at the 2019 Georgia Orthopedic Society Annual Meeting
Medical 3D printing firm, Axial3D, is to exhibit at the 74th Anniversary of the Georgia Orthopedic Society Annual Meeting 2019 at The Cloister on Sea Island.
The 2019 Georgia Orthopedic Society Annual Meeting is the largest gathering of orthopedic surgeons in the state, bringing together over 130 Orthopedic surgeons to network, share knowledge and hear from speakers David Ring, M.D., Ph.D., and Steven L. Frick, M.D.
The application of 3D printing has brought value to many areas of healthcare in recent years, not least within Orthopedics. Delegates at the meeting will have the opportunity to get hands-on demonstrations and discover the benefits of using 3D printed models for orthopedic surgery.
In one case involving a patient with spina bifida and a severe kyphotic deformity, an orthopedic surgeon at one of the largest NHS hospital trusts in the UK used a 3D printed model to reduce surgery time, reduce blood loss, and increase the patient’s understanding of the procedure ahead of surgery.
Are you attending the Georgia Orthopedic Society Annual Meeting?
Be sure to arrange a meeting with one of our team to discover, through real-life examples, how medical 3D printed models can:
ENHANCE INSIGHT INTO THE PATHOLOGY
By holding the replica in your hand and having a true 360° view, you get a full view of the true anatomy in context.
REDUCE THEATRE TIME
On average, our customers report saving 30-60 minutes surgery time, with some cases showing 5+ hours saved.
IMPROVE PATIENT COMMUNICATION
Patient experience and consent are increased by seeing and holding models of their anatomy, aiding in consent discussions.
ENHANCE PREOPERATIVE TRIALING & SIMULATION
Educating and training new physicians, especially complex pathological conditions.
IMPROVE TRAINING & EDUCATION
3D printed patient-specific models support physical simulations of surgery. This saves time and increases the confidence of surgical teams.
